Cashing up all your iPads daily is required. Find out why...

There are two main reasons that daily cash ups on all iPads are needed.

  1. To catch any transactions placed on your secondary iPads - and balance the shift.

  2. posBoss does a clean up when you enter in your PIN number to open the iPads after a cash up.

How to properly complete cash ups

Please cash up all iPads daily - even if there have been no transactions entered - and, most importantly, keep them locked at the PIN screen after cashing up.

The full process is outlined here.

More on why, below

If one or more iPads are never being cashed up, they never get a chance to clean up the transactions older than 2 days on all iPads. The non-cashed up iPads then start sharing all these old transactions with the iPads that are cashed up. Over time this builds up and causes slowness on the iPads and large delays in syncing orders and transactions with both posBoss and Paperless, which in turn can cause errors at payment and lost sales.

How many tills/devices do I have set up? How do I find it?

On the Management Site, head to iPad Setup under Setup Settings

Here you will see how many devices/tills have been setup and their status.

What your till status means:

Active - your iPad is currently being used

Locked - your iPad's last activity was a cash up and the screen shows the enter passcode page

Inactive - your iPad hasn't been connected yet or has been deactivated through the Management Site

Note: All active and locked devices must be cashed up daily, otherwise it is best to delete the device.

Be sure to check for updates in the app store to get your devices on the latest version.

Are you no longer using an iPad with posBoss installed?

If you had an extra iPad running over summer or just have an extra one you're not using? Here's how to remove it...

  1. Cash it up (even if there's nothing to cash up - do a $0 cash up)

  2. Delete posBoss off the iPad (Hold the posBoss icon until it wiggles then select Delete App (iOS13+) or press the X to delete (<iOS13)
