Please note: To print orders by menu section you will need to have an iPad on at least iOS 12 and posBoss on version 4.5.7 or higher.
**Important** - If you have the same menu item on more than one section of your menu, selecting one of them will print both items and upset the chef. Consider removing the double up or not using this feature if you need to keep multiple of the same item on your till.
To get get up, head to Settings > Printers on the posBoss iPad till app.
On this main settings page, select When printing order dockets to always group items by section. Note: this is a global setting. All dockets from this iPad will print by section if this is selected.
When this has been selected, your order dockets will print items based on the section they are located on your menu. If you get that extra entree added at the end of the order, not to worry, it will still print under the entree section.

For Older iPads - Here's the workaround to get courses working.
On the management site, head to the Items tab.
Here we will set up some new items to help you manage the courses. Create a new item, call it ---ENTREE--- (or similar), using dashes to differentiate it from regular items. Set the price to $0.00 and save it.
Do the same for your other courses.
You may also like to set up call away buttons in the same way, such as **MAINS AWAY** if you are wanting to use the printer to call away courses.
Once you have your course buttons set up, add them to your menu on the Menus page. Here you can either add the course button as the first selection in each section:
Or set up a separate menu section for courses/call aways. (Make sure you add this new section to print in your printer settings)
Sync the menu on the posBoss iPad app and you're ready to rock!
How to use:
Swipe the course splitters onto the order/tab, followed by the items in that course, as shown below:
The Course splitters will print on order dockets, but as they are priced at $0, will not print on receipts.
Please Note: posBoss receipts collate any identical items so if you added an item in the entree section and then the same item in the mains section, they would both appear on the receipt in the mains section as "2 X Ribs". To ensure this doesn't happen, either have separate buttons - Entree Ribs & Main Ribs - or you can use mods such as "As Entree & As Main", shown below.
Do I need to be on a specific plan?
